Other: They withdrew on July 30, 1820 and returned to the U.S. with his wife and one child, Lucia Kamamalu, in 1821. He was dismissed on May 12, 1822. Dr. Holman and family accepted free passage home in a whaleship via China and Cape of Good Hope. and Mrs. Holman is believed to be the first American lady to circumnavigate the globe.
