Other: (*) Arrived at Ponape (Micronesia) via the Hawaiian Islands on Sept. 11, 1852. He removed to Ebon Atoll in Dec. 1859 and visited the U.S. in 1862. He was the Sec. of the Haw'n. Board till 1870 and labored in Spain and Italy from 1871-1874. From 1876-1890 he was an Agent of the American Bible Society in Japan and China.
